Warrant Vs. Poison

Here's one for ya Labar, two of Hair Metals finest toe to toe, who do you go for and why?

For me i have to give the edge to Warrant, they had some great Glam like "Down Boys" "Big Talk" and "Cherry pie" and also some great melodic hard rock like "Bridges Are Burning", "Mr.Rainmaker" and "Bed Of Roses".

But you gotta love Poison too, i mean they were the predessor on the sunset strip to Warrant, so they had the style down and songs like "Cry Tough" and "look What The Cat Dragged In" are just killer, that's why i love it when The Deadthings cover that song!!!

Now if only they would slip in a Warrant cover......what do you say guys???

/ Blast.

Warrant Vs. Poison, Man that's like choosing between childeren . However if i am pushed to make a choice, I'd go for Warrant over Poison also, mostley because of songs but also because of Jani Lane's voice, that man is just awesome.

Oh and as for the Warrant Cover, you never can tell what may just pop out at The Deadthings shows!!!
Stay Ghoul,
Jules.

Tough one because they are so different.... so it really depends on what mood I'm in.

For fun party rock & roll before I go out to get hammered or if I am out getting hammered, then its Poison... but for great hard rock songs then it's Warrant.

And I think the best Warrant album hands down is DRFSR, easily. Great album....

But really I can't choose between them. It's Look What The Cat Dragged In, Cry Tough, I Want Action, Fallen Angel, Nothin But A Good Time, Valley Of Lost Souls, Flesh & Blood, Ride The Wind, Life Loves A Tragedy etc against Down Boys, Cold Sweat, Heaven, Sometimes She Cries, Big Talk, Mr Rainmaker, Bridges Are Burning, April 2031, Uncle Tom's Cabin, etc. How do you choose between that!

Those of you who know me will know that the whole L.A Glam thing from about 1985 onwards is really not my thing (with a few exceptions)! Well, I just happen to have a bit of a soft spot for POISON!!! I think their first album really stood out, and they've got some catchy songs across all of their first 3 albums... I loved them when I was little, so I'll always have a place in my heart for Poison.. but shhh... don't tell anyone!!! HAHAHA!!

Warrant on the other hand blow ass! HAHA!

Warrant  -  Bridges Are Burning, April 2031, Rainmaker, Quicksand, Andy Warhol Was Right, Stronger Now, Ultraphobic, 32 Pennies. What can one say but simply.......

OK, let's see , I think overall I'd say Poison are the superior band, better performers liveand a string of great songs across their albums. I really like Warrant also, but not as much as Poison.

Here's to ya!
Labar.

Jani and Warrant - Great Voice, Great songs.

Not taking anything away from Brett and the Boys though, they have a whole bunch of great songs, but there is something special about Warrant.

This is a very very tough call.

I think i'd have to say Poison though just....so many great songs and no album as stinky as Belly To Belly!

Alot of people forget how great some poison stuff is like Natve Tongue, the 5 studio tracks on Power To The People and a host of other underated tracks.

Mind you Warrant have soem killer stuff too and Dog Eat Dog is a classic as is the Cherry Pie album. I don't rate DRFSR too highly though.

BTW Poisons Hollyweird sucked a fair bit...horrid production and too much ego...what sort of album has the same song sung by two different members..thats fkn moronic!
