01.01.1991 or what? havent heard of any of those bands (see thread ten albums blah blah) being mentioned in any of today's music madhouse for about 10years+, seriously just for clarification; youse still doing the 80s/90s? guess u'd deny that on the spot - but ur top ten makes me think. who's stupid t10 would that be? pretty retro if you ask me. but then dont ask me! Warrant - Poison - Skid Row (who the **** mentioned this one please)? The capital F!?! you ain't need no guitars'n'stuff - good turntables is wot you require -sad, isn't it, I mean for someone to call themselves Rock Gods (or so)? stupid question: when did you people start doing this? wouldn't have been years ago, could it? You never actually played with any of those type bands, have you (let's hope not, youse might get a credit 4 that)
Why should you have to listen to stuff that is current or play stuff that is currently popular? What's wrong with liking albums that are "a bit retro" as you said..
Do what you like and what feels right and what you enjoy. Who cares if its older? Don't deny yourself listening to or playing the stuff you love.
Good call trashman! Not everyone has to be in to chart metal or just plain and simple trend folowers. I listen to what i think is UNREAL! And i dont listen to people like yourself "Anonymous" If i did i would be into some pretty **** stuff im tipping!
our clubs have turntables and we also have them at home. unlike yourself and the spatic reflector wearing skat just like you we dont mess with what we play on them and call it our own
music is a performance art. guitars and flashy stage shows sell our music not drugs and baby clothing like your noise
I second shakeys thank you anonymous - I too had a little chuckle. There's not much I like more than the promotion of healthy discussion, even if it is anonymous and based on a floored argument. So - here's my thoughts on the matter for those that could be bothered reading. There's very little in this world that is not being recycled from the past - for the most part, it's all been done before. Now unless I'm wrong, I can't remember a time or a decade where more covers are being pumped out in the vain hope of charted success (with the exception of the odd tip of the hat by bands that actually grew up on the songs they pay homage too..........Note: some one better tell Britney Spears fans that Joan Jett loved Rock'n'Roll along time before Britney knew how to spell it) than over recent years. So, having said that, one could safely assume that today's trends are in themselves retrospective. Retro's only a dirty word to those that are either ashamed of their past, afraid of what people may think or too young to know any better. I'm betting in your case, based on your knowledge of bands listed in the top 10's, it's the latter..............so welcome back to your future.
I wish it was the 80's, that would be awsome!! How cool would it have been to go down the shop and buy a brand new copy of RIDE THE LIGHTNING or Overkill's FEEL THE FIRE!!
Then go home and freak out at how good metal is!!!!!!!!!!
