Im gonna go with Bruce Dickinson, i havent seen anyone live with such passion for thier vocals, admittingly i havent seen rob halford, nor slept with him for that matter hehe But yeah Bruce followed by Vince Neil pre 94 and close behind in 3rd Ronnie James Dio
David Lee Roth is the best frontman ever in rock...
I also think Paul Stanley, Alice Cooper and Bret Michaels are up there. And Jani Lane on the first Warrant live video is amazing too, shame how he looks now...
I think that Rob Halford is a great singer and so is Bruce Dickinson, but they are both far from the Ultimate frontman. They are more like the Gods of Metal.
I'd like to think that the Ultimate Metal Frontman could sing as well as though two guys as well as be able to asthetically appeal to the opposite sex, that is something Rob and Bruce could'nt possibly do. Nice fringe Bruce, nice nose Rob.
i'd say the ultimate Metal Frontman would be Sebastian Bach, he has the looks , the stage presence and most of all the voice, to sing Metal or Rock or Opera.
His voice ain't crash hot at all live but he is a great frontman and his voice on record personally for me is the best EVER. But he isn't my #1 singer just because Paul Stanley & Tony Harnell can actually sing WAY better live than Bach, but on albums Bach is the man... gets inside every word and nobody can sing every line & word as perfectly for the song as he can. And as I said, he is a great frontman too. Just sounds very out of tune live, and misses half his notes, skips words etc but that's half coz he's out of breath from putting on a good show.
Well, whilst you're busy figuring out best Metal frontman - I'm going for simply the BEST frontman. No genre, this is for the heavy weight crown. Now clearly no-one is being objective in their choices here so I'm going dispense with personal preference (my answer would be vastly different otherwise) and put forward clearly the best front man in the business. The basis of my conclusion is as follows - he plays to millions of people at least 5 times a week (no touring band or Australian idiot (oops, idol) can claim that), he never plays the same set twice in it's entirety, he has to adlib (albeit very badly I grant you) and deal with constant interruptions, has immense sex-appeal (well, at least to his wife, family and the odd deranged hopeless romantic), has had to deal with more line-up changes than the Scoresby under 13 soccer team and is backed by none other than the drummer responsible for many a classic KISS tune (and Frehleys Comet's for that matter). If you haven't guessed it by now, well, you probably go to bed early. Some may know him as Artie Fufkin, in Rob Reiner's "This Is Spinal Tap," others will have guessed he's the front man for the Dave Letterman house band - yep, it's Paul Shaffer. So there you have it - it's hard to argue with the stats (though I'm confident some will try).

I have primal fear on right now. And yes Hammer I would agree that he is up there with other frontmen as he is UNREAL!!! But I wouldn't say he sucked in Gammaray i thought he still was pretty cool, know way near as good as he is now but!! Sucked is a tad harsh for a cool german man.
Im glad he left or Primal Fear wouldn't be around!!!! I want to see a live clip from the band LOST HORIZON playing live as that singer goes off in the songs would love to see them live!

**** I forgot that he left, but there would have to be footage somewhere of a Lost Horizon gig, with him in it! Maybe VENOM can help us out!
