Tommy Lee On Rove

Last Saturday night Trixx and I were talking about the Crue, and i am convinced that they won't tour. I mean don't get me wrong, i'd love it! but i can't see it happening.

During the 80's they had way more reason to tour in support of both Theatre Of Pain and Girls,Girls,Girls but they did'nt, they came to Australia only after their biggest selling record EVER! They could have returned after that on the tour for the Greatest Hits Decade Of Decadance album but didn't.

Overseas bands may tend to tour off shore to countries like Australia while they are in side projects or with line ups that don't feature the original guys (eg Judas Priest) because they can't get booked on big arena/ampitheatre tours in the US unless they have the original line up.
Once they do get the original line up back together and are selling out arenas again in the US the last thing they are gonna want to do both financially and physically is travel half way around the globe to play 4 shows in venues like Festival Hall when they could just as easily do another round of dates in the US.

When Rove asked Tommy Lee that he'd heard the rumour of Motley Crue touring Australia, just like i thought he would Tommy kind of avoided any commitment, of course he's not gonna say NO straight out,  he's got a new best of out that he's doing PR for, so he's gonna want as many Aussies to buy it as possible, he wants to leave them with some glimmer of hope that the Crue are coming so they'll go and buy the best of.

thoughts???????

I still have the ticket I bought from last time they were supposed to tour! Grrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm with you on this one Julian, I don't see it happening. But then again, stranger things have happened....look how long it took Van Halen to get their asses down under.

I agree Jules. What you said about how they only tour here with side projects or non-original lineups is very true too.

I've had doubts about the tour and seeing Tommy last night confirmed it. When the tour was first announced they were like "We can't wait to come to Australia!" and even when asked if they will survive long enough to come they were like "Definitely!". Two months later, Tommy is interviewed on AUSTRALIAN TV and is like "Well I dunno, its on the cards, I'd like to.." etc. It ain't gonna happen...

HI Guys and Gals,

As you all know Motley are doing yet another tour. Currenlty there is a huge campaign going on to get the Guys down to Australia, so if you would be so kind and follow the link http://www.fasterlouder.com.au/p/promo/?id=111 sign the petition and let all your mates know as

I know some people don't think petitions work but if there is any chance of getting them down here then Im signing my life away LOL.

I doubt Crue or Judas Priest will tour Australia this year..as Jules said why would they bother when they can play huge gigs elsewhere. Look at Bon Jovi even they have seemed to leave Australia off their major touring plans since These Days came out and that was 10 years ago.

Having said that Nikki did say they'd be here this year but his word is hardly reliable is it!??!

I'll be mighty surprised if the tour gets the whole way through the dates that have been announced let alone anymore. Having just finished reading Tommy Lee's book i really doubt the fued between he and Vince is really over and i can't see these two staying on tour together for very long. Very similar to the whole Van Halen tour recently. They only JUST managed to get through that and i doubt there'll be a round 2 of that one either.

Also, i just downloaded a video of The Crue on the US talk show Jimmy Kimmel and they played If I Die Tomorrow live. Well if this is an indication of what we have in store if the tour was to get here, i wouldn't get too excited. Vince looks bored out of his brain and he looks as if he has had a fair seat at his nearest Smorgy's.

Don't get me wrong, i love The Crue but sadly their best years are LONG gone. A rehashed best of with 3 new tracks (all decent songs i might add) isn't enough to warrant a tour of these shores unless it was part of a Summer Rock package. (insert favourite band here....)

Cheers
